Glad you liked the flavor. The batter may have been thicker partly with the changes, but also flours can vary. But yes, if it was stiff a little more liquid should do the trick next time. Enjoy!

Hi, I’m new to your site and just made these. The batter was quite stiff, which made for a “sturdy” waffle. I used flax egg and coconut oil in place of butter and cut down on both the sugar and molasses by about a tablespoon. I would definitely make them again and they do have a nice, gentle gingerbread flavour. However, next time, I think I’d put a smidge more liquid in to loosen up the batter. Thanks so much!
